Designed in collaboration with Owner and installation artist Karen Kimmel and her husband James Bond, this innovative Los Angeles menswear boutique occupied a glass-fronted raw space visible to pedestrians and cars on Beverly Boulevard. Mindful of the brand’s desire to integrate artistic interventions the scheme for the store took creative advantage of the spaces existing conditions. Simple sculptural constructions made of theater scrim and gelled lighting both divided the space and displayed hanging products, with glass- topped architectural flat files housing folded pieces and accessories. Opposite the glass facade a thirty foot long wall became the backdrop for the merchandise and a canvas for artist-collaborators that would refresh the space with new installations.
