Universal’s Aventura Hotel is sleek and streamlined, designed to provide a calming experience befitting the only non-themed hotel at the Orlando resort. We were tasked with creating interiors that were modern and geared toward adults. The design concept took its inspiration from Latin American Modernism, with curved façades, an open plan, and the blurring of indoors and out. The 600-room hotel has a vibrant urban feel. Polished concrete floors and up-lit white ceilings form a free-floating space further defined by floating glass pavilions that add layers between the lobby and the food hall. These layers help organize the flow during peak hours and provide intimate zones during off-peak times. The food hall, known as the Urban Pantry, has multiple offerings, including a sushi bar, a brick-oven pizzeria, a gelato stand, and a Starbucks. The rooftop is home to Bar 17 Bistro, which offers spectacular views of Universal’s three theme parks and the city of Orlando beyond.
